The Raiders game was blacked out locally
The Raiders game was blacked out locally, so I listened to it on the radio. The game against the Giants was so horrific that there was no way I was actually going to spend money to see them play the Eagles.Well, surprisingly, the Raiders took the lead, 7-3, and kept Philadelphia from scoring a touchdown all afternoon. It almost brought back memories of the Super Bowl with Jim Plunkett and Rod Martin.JaMarcus Russell missed on some passes, which kept the Raiders from putting away the game, but somehow, the defense kept coming through right until the end. They hung on to win, 13-9, when JaMarcus finally completed a pass that allowed the Raiders to run out the clock.Looking at the other scores, the Rams, Buccaneers, and Titans continued to be winless, while the Chiefs got their first win against Washington. The Patriots actually humiliated the Titans, 59-0, which was a ridiculous score.Did the Patriots get eight touchdowns and one field goal? What was wrong with them that they had to settle for that field goal?I’m sure that score really should have been 63-0.The Vikings and the Saints remained unbeaten. The Vikings barely won when Baltimore missed a field goal attempt. The Saints dealt the Giants their first loss. Are the Saints the best team in the NFL?It seems like it.While I was watching former Colts coach Tony Dungy offering his comments in the studio, I caught a look at his ears and realized that he was a Vulcan.
